Yellow Corn + Red Corn

Grits + Meals

Corn has been grown in New England long before the Pilgrims arrived. The organic farmers who grow for us continue to raise varieties that do especially well in our short growing season. For our cornmeals and flours, we prize old-fashioned, open-pollinated varieties. They yield a bit less than modern hybrids that grow in identical rows. We prefer to trade quantity for quality because the payoff is more flavor, more nutrients and less stress on our land.

All our corn products are certified-organic. Only certified organic corn is GMO-free.

We grind our corn the old fashioned way, too––on a stone mill. It's slow but gives us the option to produce cornmeal, grits, polenta, and corn flour. High-speed industrial mills can't do that!

Hard Wheat + Soft Wheat

Flour + Berries

Our organic wheat is grown in the Northeast. Yes, you read that right. Our farmers are in Vermont, Up-State New York, and just over the boarder in Quebec Province. The men and women who grow for us share our commitment to local food for local tables. They grow winter wheat and spring wheat, hard red and soft white. Their organic farming practices produce crops with more nutrients than ones raised with chemical inputs while protecting and improving the soils.

We produce stone-ground flours for bread-making and pastry baking. We also sell wheat berries.
